Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") are a legal agreement between you and the developer of Rewind ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using Rewind (the "App"), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Who can use Rewind; minors and parental consent

Rewind has no accounts, no sign-in, and no social or sharing features, and your journal is stored only on your own device. We therefore do not impose a minimum age, and people under 13 may use the App.

If you are under 18 (or under the age of legal majority where you live), you may use the App only with the knowledge and consent of a parent or legal guardian. In that case, the parent or guardian accepts these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for your use of the App.

Parents and guardians: the App requires a paid subscription, and all purchases are charged to the app store account signed in on the device. You are responsible for any purchase made from your store account, including one made by a minor you permit to use your device. If you are setting the App up for a child, we recommend making the purchase yourself and using your platform's family controls (for example, Apple's Family Sharing and "Ask to Buy") to manage purchases.

3. License

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on devices that you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with these Terms and the applicable app store terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, sublicense, or distribute the App except as permitted by law.

4. Subscriptions, free trial, and billing

Rewind requires a paid, auto-renewing subscription to use. In the United States, the available options are:

• Yearly subscription: USD $29.99 per year, which includes a free trial for new subscribers when shown in the App Store purchase sheet
• Weekly subscription: USD $4.99 per week

Prices, taxes, billing currency, trial length, and trial eligibility may vary by storefront and are always confirmed by your app store on the purchase sheet before you buy. The purchase sheet controls.

Purchases are processed through your app store account. For auto-renewing subscriptions, your subscription renews automatically at the then-current price unless you cancel under your store's rules before the current period ends.

If a free trial is offered and you begin one, any unused portion of the trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your app store account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not retroactively refund the current period.

5. All sales are final; no refunds

To the maximum extent permitted by law, all purchases and subscription fees are non-refundable and all sales are final. We do not provide refunds or credits for partially used subscription periods, unused features, or a change of mind.

Because purchases are handled by your app store, any refund is at the store's discretion and governed by its policies; we are not able to grant, process, or guarantee refunds directly. Nothing in this section limits any refund or cancellation right that cannot be waived under the mandatory law that applies to you.

6. Your content and your backups

You own the content you create in Rewind. Because that content is stored only on your device, you are solely responsible for maintaining your own backups and for the security of your device.

We do not store, back up, or have access to your content, and we are not responsible or liable for any loss, corruption, or deletion of it, including loss caused by a lost, stolen, damaged, or reset device, an operating-system update, or your own actions. Use the App's export feature regularly to protect your data.

7. Acceptable use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and not to misuse it, interfere with its operation, attempt to circumvent purchase or licensing controls, or use it in any way that violates these Terms or applicable law.

8. Not medical or professional advice

Rewind is a journaling and self-reflection tool for general personal use. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, psychological, therapeutic, or other professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. If you are struggling or in crisis, contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services. You rely on the App for any health or wellbeing purpose at your own risk.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR THAT DATA WILL NOT BE LOST. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE APP IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR USD $10. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIABILITY LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the App or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

12. Termination

These Terms remain in effect while you use the App. We may suspend or end your license if you materially breach these Terms. You may end this agreement at any time by deleting the App. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including sections 5, 6, and 9 through 14, will survive.

13. Changes to the App and to these Terms

We may change, update, or discontinue the App or any of its features at any time. We may also revise these Terms; when we do, we will update the effective date. Your continued use of the App after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Mississippi, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the courts located there will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute that is not otherwise subject to a binding resolution process, except where mandatory local law provides otherwise. This section does not affect your rights under the App Store Terms of Service or any rights that cannot be waived under the law that applies to you.
